Just a mix of some pics I wanted to post.

Kate doesn’t really have homework…she does have to read some books, but nothing really written. She brought this home Friday. Her teacher said it was optional. Kate took it and ran with it. I didn’t help her at all (as you can tell from the spelling;). But I was proud that she did it all on her own. Hopefully this attitude towards homework will continue (my favorite is her exclamation mark after the “Kate W!”)…

Our sweet sweet Eve has had a rough few weeks. First the potty training has continued to be a challenge. I will truly feel a BIG sense of accomplishment when we have it nailed down. Also, she has been throwing tantrums left and right out of nowhere about unattainable things. One example of many is she threw a huge fit the other day because her fleece didn’t have pockets and she wanted me to fix that. Either way, in concert with her out-of-whackness, she has been waking up super early, or staying up late stewing around in her room and then falling asleep on the floor…
Remember these barrettes? I’ve been having fun making these and some other new hair accessories for Kate (this barrette inspired by friend Cheryl who had the idea to start making again). So cute and customizable!
Lastly,
Kate has been working hard on her swimming (she’s doing a short, winter swim league). We have both been impressed by our little girl’s determination to practice for one hour, twice a week. She has definitely improved, but one thing holding her back is a fear of diving (she flipped one time and has belly flopped and it traumatized her). In the meets, Kate does well stroke-wise, but just jumps in at the start because of it. Bruce took her to the MAC the other day (where he swims), to try to help her overcome her fears. When he sent me this video from there, I almost cried. So proud that she “got it.”
almost missed this one! that swimming just blows my mind!…as does her homework…out of this world. don’t believe this about the eve tantrums!? The Rapunzel barrette is her fav by FAR right now…can’t loose it ever…too special and cool. love to see the cadillac out and the sunglasses on! summer r u?

oh my gosh–eve’s napping takes me back. my first year of blogging, when jack was just a little older than eve, i had several posts about just the strange places he would succumb to his exhaustion because he was refusing to nap or geting up too early or whatever. i have essentially the same pic of him except that he was in an alligator costume (http://gatorsfamily.blogspot.com/2008/05/our-little-jackaroo-is-tuckered-out.html — had to find it…thanks for always helping me to hold on to these kind of memories). :)
